Please Help new to linux and openstack... Using grizzly clean install. Was working, but I had to re-install nova-conductor because I was not getting the smiley face. Once re-installed all the components had smiley faces, but I could no longer log into Dashboard. Using keystone for authentication. Do not see any traffic in apache2 error log, access log does show activity no errors. No errors in keystone log as well. Not sure where to go from here, Please help.

You're starting on Linux the hard way :) There are lots of reasons why you can't login anymore, especially if you don't see traffic coming in from Apache. Please edit your question adding more details, like the OS you're using and the method you've followed to install OpenStack. You may want to start over, too: it will give you more chances to learn about Linux and OpenStack while you do things over and over again.

I also confirmed all services (cinder, keystone, etc) are working. Confirmed keystone DB mappings. Here is the Keystone log and no errors.

I see connection refused error message here. Can you look at more details on this connection refused ? Can you check your keystone is working fine ? like executing 'keystone user-list' etc Does you box has multiple interfaces ? Can you ensure that both the interfaces are up. What are the service endpoints ? Can you list them. I have seen the errors where service end point 'compute' was giving issue. By changing the same to 'Compute'(C is upper case) it started working fine.

Confirmed Keystone is working check other services like nova, all seem to be working returning responses. Box has 2 interfaces one public one private for compute hosts to communicate to and both are up..

Looks like nova-manage commands work as root, BUT nova list or any nova command fails ERROR: [Errno 111] Connection refused..

Issue resolved, found that nova-api was not running. When I tried starting the service it was nowhere to be found. Ended up install nova-api again and it is working.
