I tried to create a network executing on the controller node the command:

 nova network-create vmnet --fixed-range-v4=10.10.50.0/24 --bridge=br100 --multi-host=T

command errors with:

Error: The server has either erred or is incapable of performing the requested operation. (HTTP 500) (Request-ID: req-21f2e0ff-c53b-428e-a2e1-8dbf4f5c02d6

openstack installed on Centos 6

from api.log noted

  Caught error: No module rpc.impl_qpid

this is first install of openstack. On compute node I used the following configuration:

  openstack-configure --set /etc/nova/nova.conf DEFAULT rpc_backend nova.openstack.common.rpc.impl_qpid

did I read the installation instructions wrong and use impl rather than imp1, if so how to correct?

Issue resolved. rpc_backend was set to nova.openstack.rpc.impl_qpid in nova.conf reissued: openstack-config --set /etc/nova/nova.conf DEFAULT rpc_backend nova.openstack.common.rpc.impl_qpid this corrected path problem and resolved the issue.
