How can I hide an image in glance ? [closed]

We've got old images which are still being used by VMs. The images need to be kept in glance since we may want to checkpoint/live migrate these VMs in future.

However, they continue to appear in Horizon and glance image-list.

Is there a mechanism to mark an image as inactive so no new VMs can be created using it and it will not be shown in horizon/CLI output but that it remains available for migration/checkpoint ?

In my opinion deleting from glance will not influence on running VM's.
You could also try to update them with --is-public=False
