Hi, I have an RDO Kilo deployment with one controller/network node and two compute nodes. This all works perfectly. I have installed Manila but do not know how to configure it. For example I have an NFS export (from a separate Linux server) that I want to create as a share with a Manila backend. I do not know how to populate the backend of the manila.conf file with the NFS server path and export name etc. Can anyone point me to an example of a generic NFS Manila backend?

Thanks

I realize that Manila is a kind of cinder replacement to improve interaction with Gluster back end. Do you believe that http://netapp.github.io/openstack-dep... providing sample of manila.conf which would work you ?

For instance I don't know which openstack-manila-* services are supposed to configured and started. Either RH presumes Manila work only for RHEV Systems ( e.g. is not going to provide instructions for free ) or it is a work in progress in meantime.

Hi,

I read the RDO list response/answer as simply to install glusterfs on the backend Linux NFS server, set up a new NFS export, and configure the RDO Kilo controller manila.conf file backend with the new gluster backend settings. I will test this

Do you mean https://www.redhat.com/archives/rdo-l... to be answer ?

Packstack doesn't configure it yet (though puppet-manila has already
glusterfs support)
