Hello all, I am running openstack icehouse in a 3 node architecture using ubuntu-server 14.04 LTS and when I attempt to attach a volume to an instance I receive an error: code: 21\nStdout: u''\nStderr: u'iscsiadm: No session found.

I analyzed another post about this issue but I don't believe we have the same circumstance. To my understanding as well I am using tgtadm to control the volume management, although I may be misunderstanding the documentation. This error does not show when creating volumes, only when attaching to instances and it only shows in the nova-compute and nova-scheduler logs. Thank you for your time.

Hello all, I have learned that tgtadm is the volume service node's management service for volume targets and the compute nodes use iscsiadm to connect to the tgtadm host.

I had to set the iscsi_ip_address value in cinder.conf on the cinder-volume service node and it now can connect volumes to instances.
