After this commit was merged, we started having issues with devstack installation on VMs and bare-metal machines. ( fails in configuring IPv6 on br-ex: 2015-06-08 16:54:45.288 | ++ sudo ovs-vsctl set Bridge br-ex other_config:disable-in-band=true 2015-06-08 16:54:45.311 | ++ echo br-ex 2015-06-08 16:54:45.312 | + local ext_gw_interface=br-ex 2015-06-08 16:54:45.312 | + local ipv6_cidr_len=64 2015-06-08 16:54:45.312 | + sudo ip -6 addr add 2001:db8::2/64 dev br-ex 2015-06-08 16:54:45.330 | RTNETLINK answers: Permission denied

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Are there some configuration changes I need to make to the VM or host?

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Found a solution. Although it appeared through ifconfig that IPv6 was enabled, apparently it was only partially enabled.

Here's the solution that worked for us: Edit /etc/sysctl.conf

Set following to 0: net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 0 net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 0 net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6 = 0

This fixed an issue I was having when connecting to my VPN service with OpenVPN as well! Thanks!

There is no need to reboot the machine. You simply have to apply the changes by issuing the following command: sysctl -p. That is all.
