Hi list

I'm working under CentOS 6.4 + Havana.

I noticed there is a command can add a new virtual port to an active instance. nova interface-attach

But, after this command, I have to get into the instance, and edit the new virtual NIC's configuration file to let it get IP from dhcp.

After a new virtual port been added, is there a way to enable the instance to auto detected the new NIC and get IP from dhcp by itself ?

Thanks. -chen

You may be able to write a udev rule that would take care of this for you. You would need to make sure to craft the behavior of a rule correctly such that a new interface would not replace your default gateway.
