Dear RDO-community,

starting with the OpenStack Kilo release a new instance launch dialogue has been made available. But originally it is hidden by default. To activate it, the following directives have been set within the RDO distribution configuration file called "local_settings" in "/etc/openstack-dashboard":

LAUNCH_INSTANCE_LEGACY_ENABLED = False
LAUNCH_INSTANCE_NG_ENABLED = True

The problem: after a complete host restart the new instance launch dialogue stays completely white when trying to start the cirros basic image in OpenStack Kilo. Interesting is that the dialogue dimensions seem to be correct as it's wider compared to the old one. But the content is missing.

According to the KILO release notes the above directives have to be added to the "local_settings.py" file to activate it.

When taking a look on the bug list we found this!

Any ideas how we can get rid of the white dialogue?

New launch instance is known to be broken in liberty and in kilo.

Devs are working on this.

It's not working, if you installed Horizon under http://.../dashboard (in fact it requires to be installed in webserver root), and e.g. creating a volume while launching an instance fails, too.
