Our Windows 2008 VM's are losing RTC ticks ( so it appears ) ; and we get into this timewarp where system time speeds up trying to catch up ;

I created a xml dump using "virsh dumpxml <instance_id>

I want to experiment with changing the clock params from when a new image is launched :

<clock offset='utc'>
<timer name='pit' tickpolicy='delay'/>
<timer name='rtc' tickpolicy='catchup'/>
<timer name='hpet' present='no'/>

<clock offset='localtime'>
  <timer name='rtc' tickpolicy='catchup' track='guest'/>
  <timer name='pit' tickpolicy='delay'/>
  <timer name='hpet' present='no'/>

The track=guest is suppose to cure this behavior ( ? )

How can I modify the xml default setting when a VM launches ? Is this hard coded ?

I am using Rackspace deployment - Icehouse ;
