New installation of Kilo, 3 nodes, controller, network, compute. All CentOS 7. Followed the doc, fairly straight forward. This is the first instance I've tried to launch, I have not gotten any instance to successfully launch. Running as admin, and I haven't come across any other erorrs as I try to describe the various resources (image, nic, security group, etc) to try to isolate the problem. I have debugging on in all the components, and can't find any other errors in the other logs. I'm stumped.

edit - I see the same error as majiclamp when doing 'nova endpoints'. I get a list of endpoints for each service, one for each interface (internal, admin, public), all in RegionOne, but at the start of each service (glance, neutron, keystone, nova), I get

WARNING: nova has no endpoint in ! Available endpoints for this service:

I find error message in nova-api.log file that you attached

Have you checked your nova.conf's [keystone_authtoken] and [neutron] sections to verify that the auth information supplied in both is correct?

I am having the same error. Also when I do

nova endpoints all the endpoints are being displayed with their IDs, but I am also getting WARNING: keystone has no endpoint in ! Available endpoints for this service: same for nova and glance.

Many thanks. Also, to add for others. Seems to be case sensitive:

export OS_REGION_NAME=regionOne <-- still caused errors

export OS_REGION_NAME=RegionOne <-- not errors (for me anyway)

I am facing the same issue using Liberty with Centos 7.2: so nova endpoints does not report the full set and launching instance got into error state. Any one fix it or suggestion would be really appreciated. Thx!

Use either :

nova --os-region-name RegionOne endpoints

or edit your credentials file (demo-openrc.sh and/or admin-openrc.sh) and add:

export OS_REGION_NAME=RegionOne

To get rid of the warning.

EDIT : Careful with that workaround, a colleague of mine used it and reported that now nova endpoints does not report the full set, i.e. all 3 different interfaces (admin, internal & public) for each component... I still don't know if this has other repercussions... But it would be easy to revert back.

Yes, I've noticed the same with work-around (adding os_region_name). I only receive neutron internal, glance admin, keystone internal and nova internal. odd.

Seems pretty random, since my colleague got one of each. I'll have a look at the code to see if I can spot an explanation...

I've got the same problem with the work-around. Has it be root caused? Thanks
