I want to use neutron instead of Nova-network with ESXi. Is it possible? If it is could someone please explain how should I prepare ESXi? Where any documentation on this can be found?

I've only found this http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/openstack-network/admin/content/nvp_plugin.html

Yes BUT... Yes but you have to use the correct neutron plugin assuming that you have already a network virtualization technology on ESXi.

Here in the Plug-in compatibility with Compute drivers, on table 7.3, you can find the neutron plugins vs nova compute drivers compability matrix.

Using nova compute VMWare drivers you can only use Nicira NVP (now VMWare NSX) and Plumgrid neutron plugins.

You cannot use neutron having only the bare VMWare vSwitch.

Openstack is not a virtualization solution: you still need an hypervisor to virtualize computing resources and you still need a network virtualization solution to "virtualize the network".

Thank you! Could NSX be added to esxi server or it's only a part of paid vSphere?

It's an autonomous product and is not in the standard VMware licensing bundle. http://www.networkcomputing.com/data-networking-management/vmware-mum-on-nsx-pricing-touts-license/240162723

Probably it will be feasible. I have installed openstack with neutron on vmware workstation 8 for testing purpose. For production purpose it is recommended to install openstack on bare metal nodes. Here is a complete guide to install openstack on centos with neutron

Sorry, the question is not clearly formulated, I'm talking about using ESXi as a compute node

I think that your question is clear enough. Neutron is an Openstack component to provide Networking to build rich networking topologies. Unfortunately the bare VMWare vSwitch or distributed vSwitch is not reach enough and you need and additional VMWare SW called NSX (formerly Nicira NVP).
