Hi all,

Is there any vcentre like tool in openstack??

I have deployed multiple openstack clouds in datacenters located in different geographical locations.

I need a management tool to handle seperate openstack private clouds in a single platform. Kindly reply if any one finds like one..?

Update:

I have heard about management platforms like Scalr and Fuel. I don't know how this is going to help in openstack deployements.

Anyone who are running openstack production environment.how management part is done?

FULL DISCLOSURE: I work for Red Hat

CloudForms offers functionality for managing disparate clouds, which as of version 3.0 includes support for OpenStack:

The upstream open source project for CloudForms is called ManageIQ and you can find information about it here:

Depending on your needs and workloads though it may make sense to use the constructs provided within OpenStack such as Regions, Cells, Availability Zones, and Host Aggregates to divide your physical resources in future rather than having completely separate OpenStack clouds and the resultant overhead of managing them entirely independently.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm NOT working for RightScale and not for Gigaspaces ;-)

I guess you also can review RightScale option

Few interesting points:

  • Self-Service Catalog
  • Manage Application Life-cycle
  • ETC ...

==========================

Also, very promising solution delivered by Gigaspaces, product Cloudify, would recommend to review it as well!

Good luck!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I work for Mirantis

Mirantis's FUEL offering is focused on OpenStack deployment and management.

http://software.mirantis.com/key-related-openstack-projects/project-fuel/

My recommendation would be to review your needs, regarding the features you would need for concurrently managing multiple (geographically or otherwise) distinct cloud deployments.

If there are things you would find useful for the product to do, which are not currently implemented, you could file some feature requests with us, and quite possibly you'll see those features in a future version of FUEL.
