Why does the install guide say to remove from /etc/hosts

Why does ( say "You must remove or comment the line beginning with"? This seems odd. What breaks if /etc/hosts contains a localhost line?

Hi, the reason for that is to ensure the names can resolve. The patch that added that warning indicates the rest of the guide does verification of connectivity using name resolution -- controller, network, compute1.

Ah, I see. I read this automatically as because that's typically the only 127 IP you ever see. I assumed that the instruction was to remove the standard localhost entry that is always in /etc/hosts. I didn't catch the fact that this is in reference to an erroneous entry.
