Hello All,

I have a special use case senario. I want to retrieve the monitoring data form AMQP(Notification error and Notification info), and the log data from log files to a common interface, where I am able to analyze it(Simple operations like Time based sorting, API access etc). I went throgh a few projects -

  1. Openstack Zaqar
    • Does not handle logs.
  2. StackTach with Yagi
    • Handles Notification but not logs.
  3. Logstash with kibana
    • Handles Logs but not notification.

Apart from above I have heard of the project called Openstack Monasca, but couldnot find any proper docs to move ahead.

So my question is -->

  1. Is there any ready to use project that caters both notification and log analysis ?
  2. What combination of projects can I integrate with Openstack to solve the purpose ?

We use the combination of StackTach for checking the notifications and ELK stack (Logstash, elasticsearch, kibana) for processing log files.

I would also love to hear if Monasca will be both notifications and log files.

Hey Tobasco, Thanks for the quick reply, Have you built a common platform for both StackTach and Logstash to monitor the data in one interface ? how about pushing the notification in the logs ?

No for us they are two separate platforms.
