Kilo Heat Topo view in Horizon shows question marks

In the RDO Kilo release Heat topology view in Horizon I see nothing but blue icons (from Safari) with question marks in them instead of the usual Heat resource icons. image description

In a Chrome browser the icons look like the usual broken/missing image icon.

The heat-api, heat-engine, httpd/horizon logs show nothing interesting at all.

I suspect that this is the same problem as and that you'll see 404's logged in your webserver error log.

I tried that patch and it did not resolve my issue. I can't believe others aren't seeing this too. It happens on everyone of my various lab environments.

do you still have this issue? i solved the problem with the following steps:

  1. open /etc/httpd/conf.d/openstack-dashboard.conf

  2. add "Alias /static/dashboard /usr/share/openstack-dashboard/static/dashboard"

  3. restart the httpd service -> systemctl restart httpd

if you look closely at your access_log, then you will find something like 'GET /static/dashboard/img/stack-green.svg HTTP/1.1" 404 ' This URI is not defined in the conf-file. With the above steps you can define it.

System: CentOS 7 OpenStack: Kilo

In between, there have been multiple patches and iteration on packages. Can you please yum/dnf update and restart httpd afterwards?

I've done a full update and still have the jacked up graphics in the Stack Topology screen. I am going to do a new install from scratch and see if that resolves it.
