Hello,

I installed a Mirantis single node on a physical machine (HP G6).

I followed:

  1. boot CD.
  2. Automatic installation.
  3. "fuelmenu" to change the defaults.
  4. Network: 10.35.0.0/255.255.240.0 (without internet access but I have a HTTP proxy to web access: http://10.50.51.31:8080/ if needed)
  5. Gateway: 10.35.10.15
  6. DNS: 10.35.0.254
  7. NTP: 10.35.0.254
  8. reboot.

The procedure is very easy but Web UI doesn't work, the cloud spins endless (see: 502 error). I want to prove the effectiveness of OpenStack for my business needs. After 3 months of unsuccessful attempts (RDO, OpenStack Ubuntu, HP Helion OpenStack), my hierarchy is almost convinced that OpenStack is crap :-(

Thank you for reading my problem.

Ok, thanks. but "after a while"... after reboot? reinstall? apt-get update ?

I did nothing!! noting changed in my firewalls or anything. I was even working internally with no firewalls :( it's not quite logic

There could be many reasons why the UI becomes not responsive. The main one is something nasty in the nginx container. Please make an attempt to restart it:

dockerctl restart nailgun
dockerctl destroy nginx
dockerctl start nginx

Thank you it's almost good, but...

dockerctl restart nailgun

Error: Cannot restart container fuel-core-6.0-nailgun: listen tcp 10.20.0.2:8001: bind: cannot assign requested address 2015/04/27 15:29:12 Error: failed to restart one or more containers

Two other commands are ok.

If you do not have any data, you can go with:

dockerctl destroy all
dockerctl build all

Please add the /var/log/docker-nailgun log

What version of Fuel are you using, and how did you install it? There are Virtualbox scripts that make the installation fool proof as it's mostly automated. If it's not working it's probably not worth troubleshooting.
