Swift: How do I measure bandwidth (bytes in/out) for a container (not just an object)

If I understand the following correctly, ceilometer does not give me the detail that I need for bandwidth measurement:

http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide-cloud/content/section_telemetry-object-storage-metrics.html (http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide...)

"storage.objects.incoming.bytes" is essentially a storage volume level measurement. I need more granular data than this. Has this been done before? How has it been done?

Swift does not have support for per-container/per-account bytes-transferred metrics. Ceilometer provides a few, and more are available in StatsD format (see http://docs.openstack.org/developer/s...), but nothing of the granularity you're looking for.
