I can not access the postmaster of an instance remotely. I've edited the files /etc/postgresql/9.3/main/pg_hba.conf and /etc/postgresql/9.3/main/postgres.conf and yet can not even see the door open 5432 using nmap. I have already created rules on OpenStack security groups releasing UDP and TCP access. When I access the instance locally and use netstat I see that locally the service is running fine.

did you follow this guide below?

I'd make sure you modify the '# vi /var/lib/pgsql/data/postgresql.conf' parameter listen_address='xx.xx.xx.xx, remoteip, remoteip'
