Hi,

I am trying to run a compute node on Xen. Is it possible to make nova libvirt driver connect to the libvirt daemon using tcp. My final Setup would be

    Board 0:
    Dom0 - running libvirtd(10.0.0.1)
    DomU1- running Controller Node (10.0.0.2)
    DomU2- running nova-compute (10.0.0.3)

 Board 1:
 Dom0 - running libvirtd (10.0.0.4)
 DomU1- running nova-compute (10.0.0.5)

View Xen via libvirt for OpenStack juno
and http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xe...
I also focus your attention on Xen 4.4 install on Ubuntu 14.04 . It's supposed to be done from source:-
http://wiki.sebeka.k12.mn.us/virt:xen...
It's not quite clear what OS are you running , in case Ubuntu 14.04.X it would be most probably Qemu patching issue ( view section 3 ) , if your OS is different then verify presence of commit "xen_disk: fix unmapping of persistent grants" in version of Qemu installed.
Per link been provided current qemu releases as of time of writing 11/2014 (including 2.0.2, 2.1.2 and 2.2.0-rc1) do not have this patch included and this will result in Dom0 kernel crashes when creating a Xen Project DomU from OpenStack GUI (horizon). Even on F21 I have 2.1.3. Qemu rebuild per section 3 (link) seems to be needed. I was able reproduced suggested build

wget https://github.com/xinglin/qemu-2.0.2...

unzip master.zip
cd qemu-2.0.2-master/
apt-get build-dep qemu
./configure
make -j4

on Ubuntu 14.04.2 and F21. Required commit is here (2.2.1):-
http://git.qemu.org/?p=qemu.git&a=sea...
