Hi,

I am trying to run a basic setup using devstack and trying to install only horizon, keystone, nova and glance. Is there a way to do it. Does disable_service in local.conf a valid way ?

A pretty much minimal install is document here: http://docs.openstack.org/developer/d...

Swift is disabled by default, but Heat and a few other things are enabled. Docs on what is enabled/disabled by default can be found here:

https://github.com/openstack-dev/devs...

Scroll down the page for information on enabling/disabling specific services.

I was able to install only nova-compute glance horizon and keystone. Now If I have to add one more node and just setup nova-compute with devstack how should i proceed ?

Yes, that's perfectly possible - you'll just need to setup your localrc on the second node to correctly before you run Devstack on it. There's a couple of good examples on this page: http://xmodulo.com/how-to-install-ope...
