the new Openstack Havana feature which allows the user to select which way he wants to boot the instance he is launching ( from image, snapshot, volume, etc... ).

I have searched a lot in the documentation and the wiki but could not find answers for these questions :

a) How did the API change for Create Server since this one ?

I assume it HAS to be a way to specify the instance source boot in the JSON request. An example with be awesome

b) Is 'imageRef' a required input anymore? In Grizzly it is. But in the Havana interface it doesn't seems to be

Hello.. I am the "anonymous" sender from above :)

a) Further investigation leads me to believe that this is not possible, you CANNOT specify the instance source boot through the JSON request... but I need to make sure. Does anybody know?

If indeed there is no API for this feature, the documentation should note this ( either in , or ) and not let integrators wonder endlessly through the documentation and try out every single possible request only to find out it cannot be done.

b) also ... regarding the second question, on Havana the JSON request MUST contain the "imageRef" attribute . Launching the instance from the interface doesn't necessarily make the user enter an image as reference. It can be a volume or snapshot instead.

Am I missing something or is this a severe(ish) defect ?
