There are some limitation using a cluster software on two openstack instances with centos 6 image.

They depends from cluster software that you want use, with centos 6 there are three software cluster that you can use:

  • cman + service manager For two node cluster you need a quorum disk that require a shared disk between the instances that can't be implemented easily in Openstack. You should use unicast UDP for heartbeating because I'm not sure that multicast isn't supported in Openstack. There isn't any fence agent available for openstack instances.

  • corososync + pacemaker It doesn't require a quorum disk but the problem of fence agent remains.

  • keepalived you can try to follow the following guide http://blog.aaronorosen.com/implement... but I think that you keepalived has limited features compared to the first two options

Thanks for the useful information, for shared disk I can use Openfiler and present it to the cluster setup, is that good thing?

From centos documentation https://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/5.... you can use iscsi target for qdisk but I never implemented it.

Just for CentOS 7 (RDO Juno) . View :-

I wouldn't advise you to work on CentOS 6.X
Feel free update answer-file for install openstack-nova-compute on Controller Node.

I may not have properly explained the requirement. I already have IceHouse openstack running. I want run a two node CentOS VM with clustering with openstack as a way to host on.
