Cinder snapshots / volumes

OpenStack community,

I am curious to know if there is a means to revert an attached volume to a snapshot taken of the volume?

Where,

nova instance has two volumes, one root volume (dev/sda) and a data volume (dev/sdb). Without destroying the instance to mount a restored volume from snapshot, I'm curious if there is any means to simply revert to the snapshot for the volume, thus eliminating the need to respawn a new nova instance and attach the recovered volumes.

Thanks,

d

Hi, I meant to ask the same question, and after researching a bit I think this is not possible through open stack. Igal

Yeah, I think so too.

But I'm pretty sure You don't need to destroy Your instance(in case of /dev/sdb). I think You can make new volume from snapshot, detach old volume and attach new one.
