How to check what user terminated instance? [closed]

I have a number of instances that were terminated. These instance were not terminated by me. There are other users on the project that could have done so, but I am unsure as to which one of them did so. Any ideas as to where I can find this information? Compute log, API log, etc?

If you look at /var/log/nova/nova-api.log on the Controller , you should be able to see the logging for the instance termination

root@fmc-enf-nctl-1:/var/log/nova# tail -f nova-api.log in below format

2015-03-06 09:20:14.877 21978 INFO nova.osapi_compute.wsgi.server [req-a962ac6d-3771-43e4-8e6b-0c16e42f4e91 4de8ce3bd877407783f4c903bb9d1530 4c7db08bd3644fb58fca3d52501c75c6] 127.0.0.1 "GET /v2/4c7db08bd3644fb58fca3d52501c75c6/servers/7eaaf24a-fac9-4040-ad58-e92b56ffb713 HTTP/1.1" status: 200 len: 1955 time: 0.1513078

If you are using the JUNO version of openstack, the answer is easy.

You could see the provision details of VM in horizon which is listed in "Action Log" tab.

You can find the "Action Log tab" located next to the "VM console tab".

The Action log tab list the details about when the VM created , deleted, paused , etc.,

But once it is terminated you no longer see the instance in horizon. Thus, I would be unable to see the action log.

If it is the case, look into the database which will have all info. I also update here, if I get anyother way.
