I want to build an ubuntu vmdk image to use on an openstack with esxi-backend.

I use the configuration reference found on openstack

I use the following ubuntu image: http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/trusty...

Then use

qemu-img convert -f qcow2 trusty-server-cloudimg-amd64-disk1.img -O vmdk trusty-server-cloudimg-amd64-disk1.vmdk

Upload to controller and then

glance image-create --name trusty-cloud --is-public False --container-format bare --disk-format vmdk --property vmware_disktype="sparse" --property vmware_adaptertype="ide" < trusty-server-cloudimg-amd64-disk1.vmdk

But the instance fails to build and i cant find the logs on the icehouse virtual appliance. I only find logs in /opt/vmware/var/log/vova but i doesn't contain a nova.log and debug is set on True.

I found the error, i had set the instance to tiny. I adjusted it to small and everything booted.
