how to get ubuntu desktop in vm

Hi I have launched a vm with ubuntu 12.04 .I am able to do ssh to it using ssh -i key.pem ubuntu@ip. After going to root i have installed desktop for it using apt-get install ubuntu-desktop.I have restarted it as well. How can we get ubuntu desktop for a vm.

Objective :- 1.>I should be able to see ubuntu-desktop through
2.> I sholud be able to share the complete desktop ubuntu(vm) using remote desktop sharing(RDP) or using vnc.

I have terminal access.What is xterm access please explain.

After hard rebooting the vm I have got the error message :-"the system is running in low graphics." I have attached screenshot.plz find it. image description

You can download ubuntu desktop from ( and provision your vm with the newly added iso.

thanks nicholas I got the ubuntu desktop . It is asking for try ubuntu and install ubuntu ...WHEN I am going for install ubuntu it is indication cross on avialable disk space. And when I am going for try ubuntu it is going to live mode.....

what could be the password for ubuntu?

Increase the disk size. from the flavor-list choose m1.small by default it gives you 2gb RAM and 20GB Space.
