keystone service installation in ubuntu 14.04 desktop

Hi all,

Interested to work on openstack, would like to install only keystone service in ubuntu 14.04 desktop is it possible, need to install complete openstack. please let me know.

Yes, it is possible. Download openstack installation guide from www.openstack.org. Follow steps of networking, database, messaging server and keystone service. Later you can try remaining openstack services.

Installed openstack(juno stable) from devstack. working fine with Ubuntu 14.04 lts server.

Finally I am able to build openstack from devstack. Thanks for all your help.

hey there,

keystone provides the core authorization service for your cloud. if you want to want to keep keystone on a separate system/server the answer is yes, you can do it, provided you must properly map keystone with other other services like mysql, rabbitmq etc.

By default keystone comes under controller system, if you want to isolate any service like glance, nova, keystone. in order to run your cloud correctly all these services must communicate each other.
