I guess i'll tell you my hypothetical situation first. I am running a load-balanced WordPress applications with a load balancer, 2 app servers and a database server(with shards). In WordPress -- there is a specific directory that contains all information unique to the application /wp-content/ which is where, uploads, themes and plugins are stored. I essentially want to offset the wp-content directory to be shared by both servers. How can I achieve this in Openstack?

Honestly, if I understand your question, it sounds more like you're looking for NAS-like storage, a distributed file system like NFS.
If I understand your question correctly, then you may wish to look at this thread on Wordpress' site about sharing files amongst wordpress hosts in a cluster: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/multisite-and-clustering
