I am trying to install openstack-cinder using the instructions given in I have 3 node setup, controller, compute (also a storage node) and network node. when I give the command cinder service-list on the controller, it only shows cinder-scheduler. this is the cinder-volume log

on controller, when I check the database, and do select * from volumes, it gives an empty set

Can somebody help

Hi Rohit,

I think in your environment cinder tables are not created, once check the cinder tables in database like the below command :

# mysql -u root -p

MariaDB [(none)]>  use  cinder;

MariaDB [cinder]> show tables;

it will show tables in cinder database. if the database tables are not created then create the database tables again like the below command :

  su -s /bin/sh -c "cinder-manage db sync" cinder

The tables are there. There are about 28 entries including volumes and volume_types. Thanks for the response :)
