Thanks for the answer but my question was how to implement it. If I want to spwan an instance and assign for e.g cpu 0 and cpu 1 to this instance out of the 10 cpus available how would I do this? To be more clear I would like instance one to use cpu 0 and 1 and instance 2 to use cpu 3 and cpu 4.

With Juno you can do this:

http://docs.openstack.org/juno/config...

vcpu_pin_set = None

Blueprint:

https://blueprints.launchpad.net/nova...

I don't see a good overview about how to use it though. I'm not sure if you are asking how to implement, or if you are asking for the feature required.

You can achieve CPU pinning in Juno by following this Document. Make sure that your qemu-kvm package is => 2.1
