I'm on the verge of hair-pulling... despite having very successfully deployed Ubuntu to my OpenStack environment I cannot, for the life of me, get CentOS working. I've tried every single pre-built image I've ever found, including all the official ones from the CentOS website, I've tried building my own following every tutorial I've ever found, and every single one fails.

Among the many tutorials I've tried: - - -

Cloud-init almost never works, it usually fails with a giant string of "[WARNING]: Calling '' failed [0/120s]: unexpected error ['ConnectionError' object has no attribute 'response']" errors. It almost never ends up with my keypair successfully imported. And when it does, it won't work and it will bug me for a password, even though it's supposed to be set up to use keypair instead!

I've never, ever, EVER had disk resize ever work, either. It always ends up with the same disk size I use during the initial setup, it never resizes to match the flavor.

What is going wrong here? Has anyone EVER gotten a functional CentOS image going, and HOW?

I've had success with the ones direct from RedHat:

...specifically, the Centos 6 images. The last release was back in December, but they're good here. :)
