iptables Firewall automatically getting started on compute node

I have 2 node (controller,compute) setup with grizzly on centos 6.4.

iptables firewall on compute node automatically gets started when I do certain network related operations like create instance (when it starts networking) assign/unassign floating ip address

There are no traces of logs in /var/log/messages

Can some one please explain why this is happening?
