Hi,

It is to my understanding that a single Nova controller can handle only one type of hypervisor? What I mean: Would it be possible to have one hypervisor running kvm instances, another hypervisor dedicated to running lxc containers and having a single nova controller control both? Furthermore, would it be possible to combine bare metal (driver) or does this not make any sense?

Thanks in advance,

Hello Nuriel, you need one nova-compute per hypervisor. Each nova-compute has one hypervisor.

Hi Marcel, Just to confirm your reply, would the following combination work: one hypervisor is LXC and the other Qemu? Thanks in advance, Nuriel

Hi Nuriel, Yes, perfect. You can see more details about hypervisor integration in the Hypervisor Matrix. https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/HypervisorSupportMatrix. I hope this will help you.
