Thank you for your attention! I have built the OpenStack successfully. And I find it is great that the VMs record what I've done on them as real computers. What I'm thinking about now is whether it is possible to make instances do not record what I've done? For example,I've done some work on an VM and shut it down, when I launch the instance again,it is completely new as if it is spawned just now.

If I understand you correctly, you need some persistent storage (for your work). I would suggest you attach a volume to your instance and store your work on that volume. So, even after reboot, your work will not be lost.

Thank you for your time! Well, what I want is making the instances donot record the users' work when the instance is shut down.Does OpenStack support this?

Is there any particular reason you can't terminate the instance and launch another one of the same image?

Well, it'll take a long time(usually more than an hour) to launch a new instance from the image.

That's an awfully long time to launch an instance, do you mean you'd have to install the Operating System from scratch which in turn would take an hour to complete?
