I am planning to deploy RDO-Juno for R&D purpose and would like to contribute to openstack source by writing some python scripts. I have shortlisted RHEL7 as the base operating system which is available in various flavors e.g. Server,Workstation and Desktop. But I am not sure which type of RHEL7 will suit my needs, which is to setup a RDO development environment (single node), can anyone suggest? Also, any information on the recommended hardware configuration for the chosen RHEL7 will be helpful.

The RHEL 7 Server edition is the correct one to use with RDO (or RHELOSP for that matter). RDO also supports CentOS and Fedora.
