Amazon SimpleDB is a highly available and flexible non-relational data store that offloads the work of database administration. Developers simply store and query data items via web services requests and Amazon SimpleDB does the rest

(This is not TROVE which is equivalent to AWS RDS )

Trove does support MongoDB, which is non-relational.

As for as i know, currently there is no such equivalent to Amazon SimpleDB in OpenStack, the Amazon SimpleDB is a NoSQL db service ,there are many new projects in incubation in OpenStack, one suggestion is check the stackforge project( to see if there is any.

Hope that helps!
