Where does high-level Openstack discussion take place?

asked 2015-01-21 15:36:09 -0500

Morgan Ross Egging gravatar image contains low-level questions and answers, granular technical issues, posts that contain commands, outputs, and log files.

But where is the threaded, high level discourse happening? On what website? Where do people shape the vision and direction of this project? On what site are people able to talk about Openstack using plain English sentences?

hey there, hope the following information may help you out.

OpenStack works on a six month release cycle ( ) with milestones, and stable branches for existing releases.

There is a high level overview of the roadmap here :

If you're interested in the release under current development there's a dedicated site:

At a more fine-grained level, features in OpenStack are tracked using the 'blueprints' section of launchpad.

For example:

Simply substitute 'nova', or 'juno' for the OpenStack project or release you want to track.

Additionally, many of these blueprints link to a wiki page for further information.

You can find out further information about blueprints in OpenStack here:

Project meeting minutes and logs are published to eavesdrop - all OpenStack projects have regular meetings, as does the technical committee (tc in the meetings folder):

Etherpads for the design summit are collated on the Wiki, for example:

So far I can only find websites focused on errors and bugs, or guides and walkthroughs. I can't find the minutes of the meeting where some guy said: "hey we should have a web dashboard for all this stuff and call it Horizon".

Thank you for your response. However those link to the lowest possible low level information, they are a collection of alphabetized log files. The exact opposite of what I am looking for. How did you find that site? Is there anywhere that hosts a threaded discussion?

The comment I responded to specifically stated "I can't find the minutes of the meeting...", those are the minutes of theIRC meetings (as well as the full logs). Threaded mailing list archives are at
