Currently ceilometer do not have feature like periodically delete the record in mongodb,if you want delete some of the old record in mongo db, my suggestion is:

  1. backup the mongodb to a remote host via mongo shell scripting
  2. delete old records(eg: records created more than 1 month ago)
  3. create a cron job to make it periodically behavior

for mongo scripting you can find more on

hope that helps!
