we are in progress of implementing a new driver for cinder services , we have a scenario where we need volume name for creation of snapshot. In detail , we designed the driver in such a way that it communicates with our server through http calls , and now we need the volume name and other details in create snapshot function , how can we get those details

The create_snapshot method takes a source_volume reference object as a parameter. That volume ref object has the name (and other needed items). Have a look at cinder.volume.drivers.lvm.py for an example.
