Hi all

I have a swift cluster that im working with. it has a few disks in each zone.

some of these disks are full.

have added another zone and increase replicas to 3 so that that zone has a copy of the data.

getting alot of rsync issues around disk being full in the existing zones (there is an empty disk in each zone with 1 tb avalible) is there a reason why when a disk fills up swift still tries to replicate to it?

can i stop this and make it use the empty disk? or better still can i get it to level accross the disks so none of them are full?

if more info or examples ie ring and df paste required to make this clearer please let me know

Thanks

Scott

Proxy and replicators cannot know what disks are full. Swift does not have any kind of dynamic status map. If you have devices of varying size, you should use weights to make bigger devices take more patitions.

ok so i have set my weights to 1 gb = 1 weight point.

so 2 tb equals 2000 weight and so on.

if i have a full drive should i drop its weight down? if i do this do the partitions get moved from said drive? freeing up space?
