I have the RDO single node installation on CentOS-6.5. Everything is working properly except the fact that I am getting the internet (external network) access to only either host or guest OS (one at a time). It is just switching in between randomly (means, it goes suddenly down, in both the host and guest OS case). There is no error in neutron log files, while I am running the services in debug mode. The status of router's gateway is showing always "down".

Do you have a floating-IP range on the external network you configured? In that external net, how many floating-IP's do you have allocated and does each instance have its own floating-IP?

Yes, I do have a floating-IP range on the external network. I allocated 20 floating-IPs. Yes, each instance is having its own floating-IP. One more thing I want to add that, the internal network (vm to vm connectivity) is working fine in each case.

If vm-to-vm pings then the issue is with the router between the public and private network right?

yeah, logically this is the case but the problem is, I can't trace anything out because there is no pattern to the connectivity. And the sadest part is that even I don't have any idea, how this problem can be regenerated.
