Perform openstack operations in murano application

I am trying to write a murano application which needs to execute some openstack commands before it launches virtual machines and install applications on to that. From existing YAML examples I could see that what ever scripts that are written to perform installation of required applications are being executed on the VM being created by murano.

I wanted to know if there is a way where we can execute openstack commands using murano some how on the host machine.

Also is it possible for murano to interact with other services apart from HEAT?

Please help on clearing these concerns.

Thank you.

hello, as far as I know, murano (and murano-agent inside your vm) can only talk through the vm's interfaces, which should not be able to talk to your mgmt network. (Normal openstack configuration keeps the vm networks and the host network strictly separated for obvious reasons. )

I think the only way you could talk to the host (why ? ) that hosts your vm is through murano server side that runs on the openstack controller. Murano server side should be able to talk to other openstack services, if it can authenticate through keystone, I would expect.
