We plan to setup email service with openstack. - block storage for email engine - object storage for mail body and attached files
My concern is "object storage" It has rare references for e-mail serive and I clearly don't trust stability and performance of it. How about your opinion ?

It's not unheard of at places such as Korea Telecom (KT).

You need at least 1,000,000 accounts to make it worth the trouble. With modern hardware you might as well dump anything smaller into a MySQL server with proper backend.

The way you plan your containers and object namespace is going to be critical for performance. Unlike S3, Swift does not have automatic unzipping of buckets, so your mail engine has to contain a performance-minded scheme.
