highly available heat?

Hi

I'd like to provide ourselves with a highly available heat service. This is for a small private cloud. Is it enough to deploy the heat components on a couple of servers (like the two controllers I already have) with a VIP? In that case, must I have to shut down the "passive" heat services, or may I let them both running?

You can run heat in active/active mode. All Openstack APIs are stateless. Meaning that you can run them in active/active mode behind a VIP.

If you run in active/passive mode that will work as well.
