Hi,

While uploading my blueprint to gerrit, i am getting the following error to capture the contact information in my profile.

stack@ubuntu-47:~/openstack-specs/cinder-specs$ git config --list

When i login into the review.openstack.org and try to update the contact information for my account, i get the following error.

Code Review - Error
Server Error
Cannot store contact Information
Continue

As a result i am unable to upload my blueprint docs into gerrit review system

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong here or if this is a bug. Is anyone else seeing it too?

Sorry for the trouble. The problem is that your account on is not one of an OpenStack Foundation Individual Member.

To solve this issue you first need to make sure that you're indeed an Individual Member of the Foundation. Login into your account and check if you can see the button to become one:

become an Individual Member

If you see the button, hit it. Now while you're on your profile page make sure that your affiliation history is correct and that youre primary email is the same you're using on gerrit.

Head back to gerrit and update your contact information. This should solve the issue.

If you don't see the button 'Make me a Foundation Member' then you've hit this bug: add yourself to that bug, please. If you have more questions go on IRC and seek support on #openstack-infra.

It's very unfortunate that there's no visible hint that if you sign up with https://review.openstack.org/ (Gerrit), you also need to sign up with http://OpenStack.org. I only found this documented http://docs.openstack.org/infra/manual/developers.html#account-setup (here).

Yes, http://docs.openstack.org/infra/manua... is where all our other documentation on getting started with our community is supposed to send you. We don't really have a good solution for people who just turn up at our Gerrit instance and expect things to work out.

When setting up your accounts, did you follow the instructions ? In particular, did you join the OpenStack Foundation by going to https://www.openstack.org/join/ first and make sure that the "Primary Email Address" in your Foundation Profile matches the "Preferred Email" you set in Gerrit?

If you still have problems, make sure you are actually an Individual Member of the OpenStack Foundation. Login into your account and see if you can change your membership status to Foundation Member by pushing the button on their user profile see example.

Thanks a lot for your help! As it turned out, my primary ID at the Openstack Foundation was different from that I used to register at Gerrit. The ID I used to register at Gerrit was my secondary ID. Once I switched those around, it worked.
