I've installed openstack Juno packages in Ubuntu 14.04 by following standard openstack docs.

I am trying to install Ironic by following the instructions in the below link:

http://docs.openstack.org/developer/i...

The below command throws an error

apt-get install ironic-api ironic-conductor python-ironicclient

Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies: ironic-api : Depends: ironic-common (= 2014.1~rc1-0ubuntu1) but it is not going to be installed ironic-conductor : Depends: ironic-common (= 2014.1~rc1-0ubuntu1) but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

How to fix this?

hmmmmmm, I think the Ironic is a bit buggy now and if you want to install you might do it on Devstack. There is some stuff that already deprecated and openstack doesn't say much about it "Ironic" nowadays.

A recent patch in DevStack enables baremetal provisioning via Ironic.

First trying Ironic through DevStack would help you better understand Ironic.

Below is an article about configuring DevStack for Ironic.
