Hi I hav installed JUNO on CentOS7 using document available on http://docs.openstack.org . I could successfully create an instance. However when I try to resize the Root disk, it does not allow me to detach root disk. It says Unable to detach Root disk"

Any pointers: Regards

Do you have a use case where you need to resize a root disk? Point being, you probably don't want to resize a root disk. The Cloud is throwaway, if you mess up on an instance then launch a new one. If you have created the best configuration of CentOS ever, create a snapshot, use it as a new image for future instances.

Resizing down will not work. Resizing when you boot from a Volume might have issues. Since you are running into "detach" issues I'm assuming you launched from a volume.

Thanks for reply. Yes, I launched instance from a Cinder Volume. Normally when user upgrade to higher package then atleast it will be better if Volume gets expand. You are right that resizing disk can create a mess.

Thanks again.
