Specify plugin_dirs in which configuration file?

Hello,

For developing the custom heat_resource, we need to specify the plugin_dirs the /etc/heat/heat.conf file as follows:

plugin_dirs=/usr/lib64/heat,/usr/lib/heat

Is there a way the same can be mentioned in the local.conf also? (e.g follows):

[[post-config|$HEAT_CONF]]
[DEFAULT]
plugin_dirs=/usr/lib64/heat,/usr/lib/heat

In both the cases, typically I need to just restart the heat-engine service. Am I right?

Thanks.

Yes, you should be able to specify it in any of the configuration files allowed by oslo.config - /etc/heat/heat.conf is the default, but your distribution may add others and you can specify more on the heat-engine command line or in the environment. You're correct that restarting Heat engine should be enough to pick up the new configuration and (re)load the appropriate plugins.
