Adding post install manifest entries [ DONE ] Installing Dependencies [ ERROR ]

ERROR : Failed to run remote script, stdout: Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager

stderr: Warning: Permanently added '10.0.2.15' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts. + trap t ERR + yum install -y puppet openssh-clients tar nc rubygem-json

One of the configured repositories failed (Unknown), and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

 1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

 2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

 3. Disable the repository, so yum won't use it by default. Yum will then
just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it again or use
    --enablerepo for temporary usage:

        yum-config-manager --disable <repoid>

 4. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
    compromise:

        yum-config-manager --save --setopt=<repoid>.skip_if_unavailable=true

Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: epel/x86_64. Please verify its path and try again ++ t ++ exit 1

This is an error because of puppet. I am too facing the same problem. Could you resolve it?

Hi,

Make sure that your server is able to resolve public DNS domains. You should verify if appropriate nameservers have been setup in '/etc/resolv.conf' file. You may use the google open dns ip addresses in this file.

Also run the 'yum repolist' command to make sure that all the needed repos are working on your server. All the needed repositories should be installed and enabled on your server, like:

  1. Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL)

  2. OpenStack Juno Repository

Then run 'yum clean all' and then run the packstack installation command again or run the packstack installation with its answer file.

Still seeing same issue even after taking care of possible suggestions made in the answer post -

  1. Server is reachable on public DNS domain - [root@localhost ~]# nslookup http://www.cisco.com Server: 72.163.128.140 Address: 72.163.128.140#53

http://www.cisco.com canonical name = http://www.cisco.com.akadns.net . http://www.cisco.com.akadns.net canonical name = http://origin-www.cisco.com . Name: http://origin-www.cisco.com Address: 173.37.145.84

[root@localhost ~]# nslookup http://www.openstack.org Server: 72.163.128.140 Address: 72.163.128.140#53

Non-authoritative answer: http://www.openstack.org canonical name = http://www.openstack.org.cdn.cloudflare.net . Name: http://www.openstack.org.cdn.cloudflare.net Address: 162.159.248.77 Name: http://www.openstack.org.cdn.cloudflare.net Address: 162.159.247.77

  1. 'yum repolist' does have all needed repos working on the server -

[root@localhost ~]# yum repolist Failed to set locale, defaulting to C Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager epel/x86_64/metalink | 15 kB 00:00:00 epel | 4.4 kB 00:00:00 openstack-juno | 2.9 kB 00:00:00 rhel-7-server-rpms | 3.7 kB 00:00:00 rhel-ha-for-rhel-7-server-rpms | 3.7 kB 00:00:00 (1/5): rhel-ha-for-rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64/primary_db | 49 kB 00:00:01 (2/5): epel/x86_64/group_gz | 250 kB 00:00:02 (3/5): openstack-juno/primary_db | 263 kB 00:00:03 (4/5): epel/x86_64/primary_db | 3.7 MB 00:00:10 (5/5): rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64/primary_db | 9.0 MB 00:00:19 (1/6): rhel-ha-for-rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64/group_gz | 3.4 kB 00:00:01 (2/6): epel/x86_64/updateinfo | 212 kB 00:00:02 (3/6): rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64/group_gz | 133 kB 00:00:02 (4/6): rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64/updateinfo | 148 kB 00:00:03 (5/6): rhel-ha-for-rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64/updateinfo | 4.8 kB 00:00:01 (6/6): epel/x86_64/pkgtags | 1.3 MB 00:00:05 repo id repo name status epel/x86_64 Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - x86_64 6809 openstack-juno OpenStack Juno Repository 803 rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Server (RPMs) 5201 rhel-ha-for-rhel-7-server-rpms/7Server/x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux High Availability (for RHEL 7 Server) (RPMs) 63 repolist: 12876

  1. 'rpmquery' does list out package lists from EPEL reop -

[root@localhost ~]# repoquery -a --qf "%-20{repoid} %{name}"| grep epel|more Failed to set locale, defaulting to C epel 2ping epel 3proxy epel 3proxy-sysvinit epel Agda epel AntTweakBar epel AntTweakBar-devel epel BareBonesBrowserLaunch epel BareBonesBrowserLaunch-javadoc

  1. 'packstack --allinone' results in below error -

ERROR : Failed to run remote script, stdout: Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, subscription-manager

stderr: Warning: Permanently added '10.127.61.120' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts. + trap t ERR + yum install -y puppet hiera openssh-clients tar nc rubygem-json Failed to set locale, defaulting to C timed out

<snip>

Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: epel/x86_64. Please verify its path and try again ++ t ++ exit 1

log file has this -

rpm -q --whatprovides puppet rpm -q --whatprovides hiera rpm -q --whatprovides openssh-clients rpm -q --whatprovides tar ... (more)
