We've noticed that our VMs are very slow in the morning. Repeated use seems to speed them up. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I realize this is kind of vague, but we are really stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.

We are running Havana with KVM. The compute nodes are Ubuntu 12.04 and the VMs are CentOS 6.

Thanks, Marc

you can use any monitoring tool to give you reports what consume all the resources during that time eg. crons, backups..etc. Also check maybe the image you used for instances has some kind of a script or cron that consume resources.

Thanks. There's no cron jobs that run during this time. It seems more like a caching issue. Maybe disk or memory. It seems to be related to time spent idle.

This is weird :-) check for cron job schedule in the compute node.
